After returning to India, a traveller to Hong Kong emailed the Force to compliment officers of Airport District for recovering a piece of luggage stolen from him at the airport. He said he had never expected the officers to take his case so seriously and act so promptly and efficiently.

The letter reads:

Someone took away my trolley with my luggage on it outside a coffee shop at the airport. I contacted patrolling officers and they called Detective Police Constable Chau Wai-keung of District Investigation Team 1. Next day, an officer called me to say they have found my luggage and I can collect it. I got my luggage back with everything intact.

I am very thankful to the Hong Kong Police, specially the officer who recovered my luggage, which was worth $US5,000, and above all, my notebook which was more precious as it had all my business data. My respect for your country and your system.

I am saluting your department and this officer for your efficiency, sincerity and honesty. To be honest, I had never expected your officers to take this issue so seriously. But you have proven me wrong. Many thanks to your detective Chau. I am obliged to you and your country.
