Force wins Community Chest Award of Distinction
Chief Superintendent (CSP) (Personnel Service and Staff Relations) Evelyn Lam Man-sai received an Award of Distinction on behalf of the Force from Campaign Committee Chairman of the Community Chest, Mrs Margaret Leung, at the Chest's 2009/10 Annual Presentation of Awards Ceremony at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre on June 21. In winning the award, the Force shows its fine tradition to support charity activities and foster a sense of civic responsibility among Force members.
In the 2009/10 Campaign Year, the Community Chest raised a record of over $278 million for meeting its allocation commitments to 148 member social welfare agencies. The Force contributed over $820,000 in the Campaign Year.
At earlier presentations, the Force was also presented with the Outstanding Award of the Employee Contribution Programme, as well as a souvenir for supporting the 2009/2010 Walk for Millions.
