CCB complimented for cracking insurance fraud
Legislative Council Members, Ms Miriam Lau Kin-yee from the Transport Sector and Mr Chan Kin-por from the Insurance Sector, together with the Target Insurance Company, have complimented Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) for cracking an insurance fraud case.
On September 14, Ms Lau, Mr Chan and a representative of the insurance company called at CCB and presented thank you banners to CCB Chief Superintendent Cheung Kwai-kee and the investigation team after a traffic accident insurance claimant was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment at the Eastern Magistracy for over-claiming insurance premium with forged sick leave certificates.
Both Ms Lau and Mr Chan emphasised that this successful case had sent out a clear message on the consequence of making fraudulent insurance claims.
