Auxies help out on 'World Heart Day'
Auxiliary Police Commandant Yiu Yeung-lung and 40 members of the Auxiliary Police Volunteer Services Cadre (APVSC) helped out at an event held at the Hong Kong Jockey Club in Happy Valley to mark the "World Heart Day" on October 5.
The year 2010 is the 10th anniversary of the World Heart Day and the APVSC has participated in this global event for four years in a row. More than 3,000 people joined a World Health Organisation walk, which kicked off a Heart Health Carnival.
Mr Yiu and Chief Superintendent (Auxiliary) Philip Fung were on hand to cheer on the APVSC volunteers when they looked after the crowds and escorted the celebrities.
