Some travellers are leaving their hand-carriers unattended at the Hong Kong International Airport, making themselves prone to theft. To improve this situation, the Hong Kong Airport Authority, together with Airport District and other airport partners, held an "Airport Security Week" at the airport between September 20 and 26 to make travellers more aware of security, and to remind them to keep an eye on their luggage.

The event kicked off when Airport District Commander Siu Chak-yee and the Mascot of TV programme Police Magazine, "Kingson", together with representatives of the Airport Authority and the Airport Aviation Security Company, handed out anti-crime souvenirs to travellers at the terminals, including cardholders carrying the message of "Be A Smart Passenger. Don't Leave Your Bag Behind".

Apart from luggage theft, the "Airport Security Week" also called on airport users to promptly report any unattended luggage or suspicious objects.
