To make Southern District residents more alert to theft, burglary, and cyber crime, Western District (WDIST) and Southern District Fight Crime Committee recently rolled out a fortnight publicity drive at the Wah Fu Estate Shopping Centre. This event also sought to combat abuse of psychotropic drugs by young people.

Officiating at the launching ceremony were Chairman of The Southern District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Ko Kam-cheung; Chairlady of the Southern District Council, Ms Mar Yuet-har; Vice-chairman of the Southern District Fight Crime Committee, Mr Leung Ho-kwan; WDIST Commander Chu Ming-po and Senior Liaison Officer of Southern District Office, Mrs Pauline Chan.

Members of both the Southern District Council and Southern District Fight Crime Committee, as well as some twenty senior citizens, who are acting as "Evergreen Fight Crime Ambassadors" turned up at the ceremony to show their support for anti-crime publicity which took the forms of game stalls and promotion counters set up by Junior Police Call members. The event concluded with the mascot of Police Magazine, "Kingson", handing out copies of a publicity leaflet and souvenirs to the public.
