KW Regional Sports Day |

The Kowloon West (KW) Regional Sports Day was held at the Police Sports and Recreation Club on a cool and breezy day on November 11 when officers went all out to win and cheerleader teams worked hard to boost morale. KW Regional Commander Fan Sik-ming was pleased to see officers manage to squeeze time for sports despite their heavy workloads. He encouraged them to continue pursuing healthy lifestyles by taking part in recreational activities. The eight main events of the Sports Day were running, football, volleyball, badminton, tennis and table tennis, plus fun games and "cheerleader team performance" which added more joy and fun to the events. Exciting games saw senior officers compete for glory for their Formations. Competition among the four major Formations was so close that the Overall Champion was not determined until the final round of tug-of-war was concluded. Over 600 athletes turned up for the annual Sports Day and finally Yau Tsim District emerged as the Overall Champion. Operations Wing of KW Regional Headquarters won the Minor Formation Champion title while Crime Wing of KW Regional Headquarters captured the trophies for fun games and "cheerleader team performance". Placing equal emphasis on arts and sports, KW Region Arts and Culture Working Group brought Chinese traditional arts closer to officers on the Sports Day. Demonstrating his skills in paper art, a paper-tearing artist, at the invitation of the working group, used only his hands and fingers to transform pieces of blank paper into various images such as Chinese luck characters and patterns. The day also provided an information booth to make officers more conscious of the need to lead a healthy lifestyle. Yau
