In his interview with the
media, Mr Tsang said he was confident that with his professional and
dedicated officers, with the support of the community, and with the
continued partnership of other law enforcement agencies working
alongside the Police, the Force is capable of taking up all challenges,
big and small. He stressed the importance of communication. He noted: "Effective communication does not stop within the walls of the police organisation. Communication with the community and other law enforcement agencies within and outside Hong Kong is equally important." Series of meetings
Later, when meeting with all Commissioner Rank Officers, Mr Tsang talked about his approach to work and his plan for 2011. "The most important thing is to understand each other's expectations. This kind of communication is very important," he said. Mr Tsang also had meetings with staff representatives, including police and the civilian grades. He said: "Police work has become more complex; members of the public are expecting more from the Force; and officers' workload is getting heavier everyday. Therefore, we must work as a team and support each other in endeavours to maintain the stability and prosperity of Hong Kong." Besides outlining his work approach, Mr Tsang also discussed matters of staff concern and listened to their views on staff benefits, particularly support for frontline officers. Lastly, Mr Tsang stressed that achieving a service culture based on honesty and integrity remains an important task for the Force, and pledged that he will see to it that the Force continues gathering momentum in these areas. "To elevate our services to a higher level, promoting integrity and our service culture is a vital step," he noted. (More photos on Photo Features)
