Force saddened by death of Sergeant

Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung and members of the Force have been deeply saddened by the death of Sergeant Fung Kwok-ho, who collapsed while on rural patrol on the MacLehose Trail in Ma On Shan Country Park in the afternoon of January 11.

Sgt Fung was airlifted to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital, where he was certified dead in the same afternoon.

On hearing news of the tragedy, Mr Tsang went immediately to the hospital and offered his deepest condolences to Sgt Fung's family.

The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, and the Secretary for the Civil Service, Miss Denise Yue, also extended their deepest condolences to Sgt Fung's family.

The Force Welfare Services Group is in touch with Sgt Fung's family, and will make every effort to help the family to tide over their time of sadness.

Sgt Fung, aged 41, joined the Force in 1991. At the time of the incident, he was attached to the Patrol Sub-unit of Sha Tin District. He is survived by two children.
