The Force attaches great importance to providing frontline officers with the necessary equipment and support to enable them to work in a safe environment and provide the best services to the public.

Recently, Assistant Commissioner (Information Systems) Lau Yip-shing, together with Kowloon City District Commander Wong Sui-fat, Hung Hom Acting Divisional Commander Chan Hoi-kong, and Communications Branch Chief Telecommunications Engineer Wong Chun-kau, visited the Third Generation Command and Control Communications System (CC3) Base Station and received a briefing on the system's benefits by Communications Branch engineers.

To enhance CC3 coverage and thereby ensure the best radio system in terms of signal transmission and reception is available within Hung Hom Division (HHDIV), Communications Branch officers have worked closely with Kowloon City District to explore improved locations for the sitting of CC3 Base Station. In mid-October last year, the last of 123 CC3 Base Stations installed Force-wide, underwent a series of full-scale tests which finally confirmed the success of the new CC3 Base Station erected in Hung Hom.

Mr Lau also took the opportunity to visit Hung Hom Police Station where he met with frontline officers and discussed a wide range of issues, including the new CC3 Base Station. In the meeting, Mr Lau also informed officers of the development of a new generation of information and communication technologies, as well as progress of projects related to virtual station and information security.
