Narcotics Bureau (NB), together with the Hong Kong Catholic Diocesan School Council (HKCDSC), will carry out a two-year large-scale anti-youth drug abuse education and publicity programme between February this year and December next year. A total of 6 500 teachers and 93 000 students from 126 primary and secondary schools will participate in this project. Furthermore, 273 police volunteers from NB and the six Police Regions will also pitch in for the project.

The project will be carried out in 126 schools and its programmes will include:

* train-the-trainer workshops for 6 500 teachers;

* anti-drug online study programme comprising eight e-learning packages for 93 000 students;

* "Anti-drug" week featuring interactive anti-drug drama performance, roadshow and anti-drug information sharing session to be hosted by police volunteers at the participating schools; and

* certificates for students who have completed the two-year project.

To ensure the successful launch of the first two e-learning packages for schools from March to May this year, the E-Learning Volunteer Group started preparation on information gathering and curriculum arrangement in November last year. Upon completion of the first two packages, workshops for police volunteers and train-the-trainer workshops for teachers will be held in mid-February this year to boost their knowledge of the e-learning packages.
