About six months ago, the Kwun Tong Police Community Relations Office rolled out a "Tseung Kwan O Crime Prevention Partnership Programme", which featured workshops for security guards and a certificate presentation ceremony. The programme seeks to make the security guards in Tseung Kwan O Division (TKODIV) more aware of crime prevention, reduce crimes in housing estates, and promote police-community co-operation in fighting crimes.

Recently, 70 participants from 13 housing estates, including property managers, supervisors, security guards and residents, joined the second phase of the programme. Sai Kung District Fight Crime Committee Chairman, Mr Lau Wai-cheung, was also present to show his support for the event.

At the event, officers of Kowloon East Regional Crime Prevention Office, Kwun Tong District Intelligence Section and Tseung Kwan O Divisional Task Force briefed the participants on the latest crime trends, modus operandi and security guards' patrol skills and powers.

The workshop concluded with Tseung Kwan O Divisional Commander Chan Wing-mee presenting certificates and expressing thanks to the housing estates participating in the programme for the first time. She wished success for the partnership in fighting crime and building a peaceful community.
