When Sgt Fung's family held a vigil at the funeral parlour in the evening before the Force funeral service, Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, accompanied by Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, paid his last respects to SGT Fung at the vigil.

Among those paying their last respects to Sgt Fung at the funeral service were Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, Secretary for the Civil Service, Ms Denise Yue, senior officers from government policy bureaux, departments and other disciplined services, CP, Senior Directorate Group Officers and representatives from Major Formations, Regions, Districts and Force staff associations.

Eulogy

Delivering the eulogy, Sgt Cheung Cheuk-lap of the Miscellaneous Sub-unit of Happy Valley Division pointed out that Sgt Fung showed a strong commitment to whatever duties he performed. "Even in the face of a very tough mission, he never flinched from duty. He was a really professional and down to earth police officer," Sgt Cheung noted.

"Towards the end of his training at the former Police Training School, he was picked to join the Criminal Intelligence Bureau," Sgt Cheung continued. "He had worked in different posts, including Police Tactical Unit, anti-triad squad, special duties team and crime unit. Despite a busy and heavy workload, he managed to come up with good performances and crack many cases. After work, he did his best to equip himself, eventually promoted to Sergeant in 2009.

"Fung Kwok-ho loved outdoor activities and took part in various sports. He was good at running and trampoline, winning many prizes in and outside the Police Training School and showing his agility, stamina and determination. Once he stunned recruits with a demonstration of his trampoline skills at a training session in the training school.

"He worked very hard until the last moment of his life, for which we have great respect. His drive and encouragement are inspirations for all of us."
