WPC gains Singapore exposure |

Woman Police Constable (WPC) Chau Suen-yu, a mentee of the "Development Programme for Junior Officers with Potential", has been selected for a three-month job attachment to the Key Points and Search Division of Operations Wing to assist in a "Behaviour Observation Techniques" research project. The project aims at enhancing Unit members' professional knowledge of conducting security screening during a major event to identify the people, specifically potential terrorists, who may pose a threat to the event. During the attachment, WPC Chau, led by Chief Inspector Tang Chi-ming, paid a four-day visit to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) in January this year, visiting a number of units, including Transport Security Command and Airport Police Division, which have adapted Behaviour Observation Techniques in their day-to-day policing work. Commenting on her attachment, WPC Chau said: "I joined the Development Programme in order to widen my horizons and enhancing my police knowledge and ability. I am so glad to work in Key Points and Search Division, where I have learned a lot. "Most importantly, when sharing experience with Singapore officers, I came to realise the importance of keeping pace with times, upgrading personal knowledge and pursuing self-development. I strongly recommend colleagues to take part in the Development Programme for Junior Officers." CIP Tang and WPC Chau (third left) have had a wide-ranging exchange with Singapore police officers |
