Meanwhile, police officers, security guards and citizens who helped fight crime in Tuen Mun District last year were commended through the "Commendable Police Officer Scheme", "The Best Security Guard Award" and the "Good Citizen of the Year Award". TMDIST has enlisted the participation of different organisations in publicity initiatives such as "Project X" which disseminated fight crime messages in collaboration with Lingnan University and organisations in different districts.

Forty-three groups of police officers from TMDIST, Regional Crime Prevention Office New Territories North (Tuen Mun Office), Emergency Unit New Territories North and Special Duties Squad of Yuen Long District have been nominated by the public for the "Commendable Police Officer Scheme".
