CP's Commendation
Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung presented Commendation to six officers for their outstanding performances and professional ability in investigating a case of "throwing corrosive liquid with intent to cause grievous bodily harm" which occurred in Causeway Bay in December 2009.
The officers are Chief Inspector Lee Ying-wai, Senior Inspector Cheung Lap-ho and Woman Senior Inspector Chan Chi-san and Sergeants Tong Chi-cheong, Yan Wai-kin and Ng Put-fan.
The incident, which resulted in a number of pedestrians receiving injuries, attracted public concern, but as a result of the officers' painstaking detective work, the culprit responsible for the case was arrested and jailed for 13 years.
