Force team shines at Indoor Rowing Championship

Out of the seven events in the Hong Kong Open Indoor Rowing Championship 2011 held on March 20, a team from the Police Adventure Club (PAC) captured two gold, two silver and one bronze medals. The team also ranked as one of the top ten in the Overall Competition Teams event, which was participated by about 50 teams.

PAC Chairman, Superintendent Li Hong-man, is delighted with his team's achievement, which is the outcome of a yearlong intensive training. The team's performances in the championship were as follows:

Women's Open Individual 500M - Gold Medal by Woman Police Constable (WPC) Chung Lok-man;

Women's 4 x 500M Discipline Force Team Relay - Gold Medal by WPCs Chung Lok-man, Yeung Yim, Man Ying and Chan Wai-man;

Men's 4 x 500M Other Sports Clubs & Societies Team Relay - Silver Medal by Sergeant (Sgt) Kong Kwok-keung and PCs Wong Wan-chun, Chan Tai-yee and Ao Ka-leung;

Men's 4 x 500M Rowing, Canoeing & Paddling Clubs Team Relay - Silver Medal by Sgt Yeung Chung-pang and PCs Li Chun-kit, Chak Wai-yip and Lee Lai-cheung

Men's 4 x 500M Discipline Forces Team Relay - Bronze Medal by Inspector Hui Thorple and PCs Ho Ming-cheung, Chan Po-shing and Lau Chun-yuen;

Women's Top of the Tops President Cup (Top Ten): 4th position, and

Men's Top of the Tops President Cup (Top Ten): 5th position

The rowing team will continue their training and prepare for the 2011 World Police and Fire Games to be held in New York in August this year. Any officers wishing to join the team may call Mr Paul Yeung on 9221-1987.
