Force attends INTERPOL meeting
Senior Superintendent (SSP) Lawrence Wong recently attended the 7th INTERPOL Annual Heads of National Central Bureaus (NCB) Conference in Lyon, France, as a member of the National Central Bureau China (NCB China) delegation. Accompanying him on the trip was Woman Senior Inspector Avina Lai of Liaison Bureau (LB).
The Mainland delegation was headed by Mr Yu Chengtao, Deputy Director General of NCB China. Other members of the delegation included contact officers from the Public Security Bureau in Beijing and officers from the Macau Judiciary Police.
This year, a total of 252 delegates from 147 member countries attended the conference between April 19 and 21 to share good practices and exchange valuable information.
During the conference SSP Wong informed INTERPOL Secretariat of the Force's project of extending the INTERPOL Communication platform, and INTERPOL agreed to send a team to Hong Kong to assist with training matters. He also took the opportunity to reinforce the partnership and co-operation with his overseas counterparts and reiterate the Force's commitment and determination to pursue international co-operation in policing.
