IPCC Members visit Police College

Thirteen members of the Independent Police Complaints Council (IPCC), accompanied by IPCC Secretary General Ricky Chu, visited Police College on April 19.

Also accompanying the IPCC members on the visit were Director of Management Services Tang How-kong, Assistant Commissioner (Service Quality) Wong Fook-chuen and Complaints & Internal Investigation Branch Acting Chief Superintendent Chung Siu-yeung.

After meeting Police College Director Kevin Woods, the IPCC members began their visit with a presentation on "Psychological Competency Training" by Force Training Officer Cammie Leung and a briefing and demonstration on "Use of Force Continuum Focusing on Decision-making" by Superintendent (Weapons Training) Chan Wing-leung. These were followed by a demonstration by Superintendent Chan Man-yin on frontline police work, including first aid, bank robbery and public order event. The visit concluded with an open forum with the college's training staff and trainees.

During the visit the IPCC members exchanged views with frontline officers and understood better their jobs and training.
