Following preliminary selection games held in March for the Police Bowling Team, the 12-game final was held last month. Police Bowing Club Chairman, Superintendent Ho Yun-sing, and vice-chairman, Senior Inspector Chan Chi-wai, attended the final not only to cheer on the players, but also monitor the whole process and scoring of the competition, in order to pick the first 16 highest scorers to represent the Force.

The intensity of the competition was best described as "unprecedented" as the three top players battled until the last game to decide the final champion. Finally, Police Constable (PC) Ng Kit-yan emerged as champion with as many as 2 687 points (an average of 223 per game), followed by Sergeant (Sgt) Cheung Wai-ming as first runner-up and PC Li Lung-chun as second runner-up.

One of the finalists, Sgt Lo Chung-ming, even came up with 299 points in a game, just short of one point to make a "Perfect Game". This new record shows that all the participants are very skilful and well trained.

Supporting the promotions of a healthy lifestyle and bowling within the Force, the Police Bowling Club will organise more activities and competitions in the coming year for Force members. Watch out for news on Force Noticeboard or the club's notice board at Police Sports and Recreation Club.
