The Force always supports charity causes, and shows care and concern both externally and internally to fullfil its social responsibility.

Supporting Community Chest

Chief Superintendent (CSP) (Personnel Service and Staff Relations) Bernie So received the souvenir of Supporting Organisations on behalf of the Force from Mr Eddie Kwan, Co-chairman of the 2010/11 Walk for Millions, at a Cheque and Award Presentation Ceremony held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on May 26.

This year over 30 000 walkers have taken part in the Walk for Million and raised over $20 million for "Children and Youth Services".

Donation to Police Education Trust

The outgoing Chairman of the Senior Officers' Mess Committee, Assistant Commissioner (Personnel) Chau Kwok-leung, donated on May 26 $22 900 to the Police Education & Welfare Trust (PE & WT) on behalf of the Mess. The donation, which was received by CSP So on behalf of the Trust, was the proceeds from sales of old tableware of the Mess in an effort to optimise use of resources and to benefit police children.

CSP So said he would like to see more support from Force members for the Police Children's Education Trust and PE & WT. Those wishing to support the two Trusts may either join the voluntary contribution scheme or directly send cheques to PS & SR Branch.
