In a bid to engage Non-ethnic Chinese (NEC) youth with sports, Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) recently held an Inter-District Cricket Tournament, involving three police districts, at Po Kong Village cricket pitch, Diamond Hill.

Enjoying seven-a-side matches were NEC Junior Police Call (JPC) members from YTDIST, Wan Chai District and Sham Shui Po District. Following a very close competition, YTDIST JPC took the winner's trophy.

Many local community leaders turned up to support YTDIST's sporting initiative, including the Honorary Advisor of YTDIST JPC, Mr Nanu Lachman, and Mr Liaqat of the Pakistan Welfare Union.

YTDIST Police Community Relations Officer M M Khan pointed out that his District has been supporting NEC youth in developing their favourite sport of cricket at Police College since 2009. This endeavour was also used to disseminate anti-crime messages to the participants, he added.
