To attract this year's high calibre Form Seven graduates and other aspiring young people to join the Force, Recruitment Division (RECDIV) will organise a Police Recruitment Day at Police Headquarters on July 16.

The Recruitment Day will provide one-stop services to applicants for the posts of Probationary Inspector (PI), including initial screening and scheduling of written examination, and Recruit Police Constable (RPC), including initial screening and group interview, thus shortening the selection processes by about three weeks.

The successful RPC applicants on the Recruitment Day may start their foundation training in Police College as early as October this year.

Four sessions of a career talk will also be arranged for applicants to acquire general interview skills and to get better prepared for the subsequent selection processes.

For the financial year 2011/12, the Force aims to recruit 920 officers comprising 170 PIs and 750 RPCs. The candidates the Force is looking for are those who possess the competences required of a police officer, share the values of the Force and aspire to becoming a professional police officer to serve the community.

Force members are urged to encourage their relatives and friends to join the Force. The application forms for PI and RPC posts can be completed via the website of Hong Kong Police Force http://www.police.gov.hk/recruitment before July 12. The Recruitment Division will inform applicants via email of the selection arrangement.
