TBHQ to enhance action against drink driving
Enforcement action against drink driving remains a priority for traffic policing as stated in the recently issued Selected Traffic Enforcement Policy.
To step up effort to deter drivers from driving after drinking, Traffic Branch Headquarters (TBHQ) have decided to enhance the present mode of enforcement action against the offence.
Other than drivers stopped at police roadblocks, drivers stopped for contravening moving traffic offences and those in motion may also be required to undergo a pre-screening breath test.
TBHQ will issue detailed instructions before the enhanced mode of operation commences.
Safety for officers and road users remains a primary concern in all traffic enforcement operations. The Force will continue to exercise powers in the most responsible manner.
