The Narcotics Division of Security Bureau and the Action Committee Against Narcotics (ACAN) staged the  "Knock Drugs Out with Love" event at Queen Elizabeth Stadium on June 25, raising the curtain for the territory-wide Campaign Against Youth Drug Abuse for this year.

Officiating at the event were the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang; Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee; Commissioner for Narcotics, Ms Sally Wong; ACAN Chairman, Prof Daniel Shek; and Chairman of the ACAN Sub-committee on Preventive Education and Publicity, Ms Scarlett Pong.

A large number of Junior Police Call (JPC) members turned up to lend support to the event.

Speaking at the event, Mr Tsang said the drug test scheme implemented in the schools in Tai Po last year had reinforced students' determination to  "say no to drugs", helped  promote a drug-free culture on school campuses and spurred students in need to seek help. He emphasised that the Government would provide more support to various sectors to beat drugs.

At the event, singer MC Jin joined the participants in singing the theme song  "Drugs? No Way!", which he composed specially for the event. The JPC members, led by Director of Operations Hung Hak-wai, also actively took part in the rendition, receiving the anti-drug message and reinforcing their determination to steer clear of drugs.

After the event, a JPC member said the event had made him more aware of the anti-drug cause, and indicated that he would join the new drug test scheme the government would implement for schools in various parts of the territory. He believed the scheme would effectively stem out drug abuse on school campuses.

The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, declares the event open along with other officiating guests
