Since March last year, Crime New Territories North Headquarters (Crime NTN HQ) have launched a "Project Sunflower" with the aim of engaging the community in promoting family harmony and enhancing the professionalism of frontline officers in handling domestic conflict cases.

"Prevention of sexual crime" is one of NTN Region's Operational Priorities for this year. Therefore, in a bid to make frontline officers more sensitive to sexual crime victims, particularly those of the vulnerable group, Crime NTN HQ held a refresher workshop on June 23 for 33 officers who had received special training on conducting video interviews with vulnerable witnesses. Speaking at the workshop, NTN Senior Superintendent (Crime) Leung Chin-wah said he appreciated the efforts made by the officers in the past years.

Through lectures and discussion, the officers had active interaction with the Force trainer, Senior Inspector Woo Kam-yan, to share experience in handling vulnerable witnesses and to hone their interviewing skills. They were also trained to familiarise with the operation of digital video recording facilities the Force will fully adopt for all vulnerable witness suites.
