To improve the law and order in Southern District, Western District (WDIST), together with Regional Crime Prevention Office Hong Kong Island, recently held a seminar on the security of buildings and shops in Southern District at Aberdeen Police Station.

WDIST hoped the seminar would make the local residents and commercial tenants more knowledgeable in security, and introduced the new modus operandi and preventive measures. It also hoped that by answering questions about security by owners' corporations and management companies, the police would have a better understanding of their needs in terms of security, and would strengthen communication and co-operation with them.

Besides representatives of property management companies, security companies, owners' corporations, district committees, village houses and shops, Mr Leung Ho-kwan, Chairman of the Southern District Fight Crime Committee, his committee members and Southern District Councillors were also present to show their support for the seminar, after which the police distributed fight crime promotional souvenirs, leaflets and posters to the participants.
