Police Volleyball Club held two annual external competitions recently. The first, the Lomas Cup for men's teams from local disciplined services, was held on May 5 at Police Sports and Recreation Club (PSRC) when Fire Services Department, Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department and Immigration Department, as well as two Police teams vied for the cup.

This year, competition was particularly close and saw Fire Services Department claim the title and the Police Team (A Team) take the third place. The club's Honorary Vice-chairman, Dr Malcolm Lam, presented prizes.

The Felicia Cup, an annual invitation competition with local universities, was held on July 3, attracting teams from Hong Kong Baptist University, Hong Kong Shue Yan University, Hong Kong Institute of Education and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as well as two Police teams. Competition was equally close and finally the Police Team (A) edged out Hong Kong Baptist University to take the title.

On June 19, the Police women's team captured the title of the university invitation cup event organised by the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on its campus.

The Police Volleyball Club holds a practice session at PSRC every Thursday from 7 pm to 10 pm. Those interested in joining the session may contact Sam on 9055-1461 or Ling on 9431-9957.
