Commissioner of Police

Dear Sirs,

I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for the tenacity and professionalism displayed by your officers in handling a fire, which happened on my premises. On April 7, 2011 about 3.30 am, I was informed by a police officer of EU Car 52 that my house was on fire. Fortunately, nobody was injured in the fire, which was promptly put out by firemen.

Upon return to my house, I found out they have done their best to evacuate the nearby residences and carefully protect my property. My family and I are very much impressed by their efficiency and professionalism to tender assistance. Their positive attitude towards their job is very much appreciated.

I would be grateful if you would convey my sincere appreciation to the officers involved for a job very well done.

With best regards

K C Lam

Dear Commissioner,

I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the outstanding performance of the Hong Kong Police Force during the rescue of our friend who was almost drowned in the Ninepin Group off Sai Kung Peninsula on August 7 about 2.45 pm.

We are most grateful for the great effort and commitment by the team of Marine Police Launch No.9, which led to the prompt transfer of my friend to Tseung Kwan O Hospital. Soon after the incident, on one hand, the officers tried their best to calm me down, as I was very panicky. On the other hand, they effectively organised the rescue operation. In particular, a lady police officer spent almost a quarter of an hour to comfort my friend's relative and me on the phone and so did the sergeant of the team. She was the model of courtesy, politeness and sensitivity to my friend's relative and me in our time of distress. They were all unfailingly polite and very caring.

While I was escorting my friend to hospital with the ambulance staff, an inspectorate officer at the Marine base gave helpful assistance to my Taiwanese friend to go to the hospital within a shortest time. He was very impressed with the good quality of the services rendered by the Hong Kong Police Force.

My friend is now recovering and is thankful for the officers' kind help and assistance. Their effectiveness and efficiency are definitely exemplary for others to model upon.

A.Tong

P.S.: I would like to say thank you to the officer who drove the ship. He was very patient with me and made me feel comfortable.

(Editor's note: The officers praised in this letter are Sgt Ip Chi-keung and PCs Yuen Ka-man, Chu Siu-pong, Yiu Ka-chun, Kwok Kwong-ho and Yiu Kwok-cheung, all from MEDIV)
