Bank kudo for Crime HKI
In June, officers of Regional Intelligence Unit Hong Kong Island (RIU HKI) received information from a local bank that the bank and some financial institutions had received applications for loans and credit cards with false documents. Subsequent to investigations, officers of RIU and Regional Crime Unit HKI arrested four members of a syndicate and recovered most of the stolen properties, amounting to $350 000 in value. This action also prevented further loss suffered by the financial institutions.
As a token of appreciation of the good work and professionalism of the officers concerned, the Management Committee-card Authorisation System in PRC recently presented plaques to Crime Hong Kong Island.
