NTN forms Informer Handling Cadre |
||
To support the Commissioner's Strategic Direction on Strengthening Criminal Intelligence Force-wide, New Territories North (NTN) has adopted a "Comprehensive Intelligence Gathering Strategy" since May this year. One of the initiatives of the strategy is to enlarge the informer recruitment network by forming an Informer Handling Cadre. The cadre formally came into being in August, comprising 40 experienced informer handlers recruited from Regional and District crime units in NTN Region. To update cadre members' professional knowledge and enhance their related skills, Crime NTN held a two-day Informer Handling Training Workshop with the assistance of experienced speakers from Criminal Intelligence Bureau (CIB). In his opening address, Acting NTN Regional Commander So Kam-shing stressed the importance of intelligence gathering in nowadays policing and shared his valuable experience of working in the CIB. Mr So presented an appointment letter to each cadre member at the conclusion of the workshop. Mr
