To tackle burglaries in shop and street crimes in Wan Chai, members of the Task Force Sub-unit (TFSU) of Wan Chai Division and Special Duties (SD) Team of Wan Chai District (WCHDIST) mounted a series of anti-crime operations from February to August this year, cracking four burglaries and one case each of "Uttering Forged Credit Card", pickpocketing and indecent assault, as well as nabbing a total of four men and two women.

Investigating the burglary cases, TFSU officers succeeded in identifying a male suspect after analysing the modus operandi. They mounted a special operation and subsequently spotted the suspect trying to break the rear door of a shop at night. They also found breaking equipment on the spot. The suspect later admitted having broken into three other shops.

The owners of the victimised shops called at Wan Chai Police Station on October 10 and presented tapestry banners and plates to WCHDIST Commander Lam Man-sai, Deputy Commander Au Yeung Chiu-kong, Acting Wan Chai Divisional Commander Fung Ngai-man and officers of TFSU and SD Team in recognition of their leadership and professionalism.
