From September 24 to 26 in Beijing, Force Training Officer, Superintendent (SP) Chow Chun-fung, and Senior Inspectors Lin Po-yin and Iu Wing-kan attended the 1st International Symposium on Behaviour-based Safety and Safety Management, where they had discussion and interaction with university professors, Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) specialists, as well as OSH chiefs and practitioners from major organisations in 12 countries.

The symposium aimed at reinforcing OSH awareness and serving as an exchange platform on behaviour-safety management. The Force representatives attended the event in order to acquire and share knowledge and experience of OSH globally with an in-depth study and review of the future direction of OSH.

This year the event sought to review and share the results of research and implementation of behaviour-based safety and safety management by the participating countries, and to investigate the impact of swift regional, national and international changes on OSH.

As an invited speaker at the closing ceremony, SP Chow briefly introduced the Force's OSH development and its challenges. "The symposium was particularly useful - not only did it facilitate interaction regarding OSH and the related changes, but also enhanced our knowledge of behaviour-based safety and safety management. It will figure importantly in the Force's OSH development," he noted.
