The Hong Kong Police Golfing Society hosted the 17th Triangular Golf Tournament on November 9 and 10, with 36 delegates from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and the Royal Thailand Police (RTP) vying for the "Ray Anning Plate" and the "Pacific Plate" with Force golfers.

The tournament was first held in 1992 for the golfing societies of the SPF, RTP and the Force and since then this annual event is hosted by the three police forces by turns.

The matches for the "Ray Anning Plate" took place at the Palm Island Golf Resort in Huizhou in cold, wet and windy weather. There were also unexpected heavy rains and strong wind, but they failed to dampen players' enthusiasm and the excitement of the competition. Eventually, Force players fought hard and won the trophy back from the SPF.

With the return of drier weather, the matches for the "Pacific Plate" were played at Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course in Sai Kung. The SPF team fought back with an exceptional performance in a windy situation and won the final match to clinch the plate.

The annual event has enhanced the fine tradition and relationship among the three police forces. Hong Kong Police Golfing Society Chairman, Chief Superintendent Philip Sham, has thanked, on behalf of the overseas guests, the Organising Committee, chaired by retired Senior Superintendent Gilbert Jorge, for coming up with an enjoyable and unforgettable event.

The SPF will host the tournament next year.
