PSG seminar on wisdom of life |

At the invitation of Psychological Services Group (PSG), Mr Patrick Yip Lim-sum, a young local film scriptwriter and director, spoke at a "Balances and Wisdom" Seminar as a speaker on November 18 to share his wisdom of life with about 300 Recruit Police Constables and regular and auxiliary police officers. Renowned for shooting films about romantic relationships, Mr Yip drew an analogy between his films and "Police Magazine" in the love world. He wants his audience to beware of true romantic relationships, so as to learn how to better accommodate with their partners. Similarly, he believes life is a continuous learning experience and a process of self-understanding and understanding others. Talking about the importance of emotional control, Mr Yip regarded having a temper as a sign of weakness because it would not solve any problem. He also thinks that equality and respect; understanding and appreciation are the most important principles for interacting with people of any ages. Regarding tips on success, Mr Yip stressed the importance of "not asking for rewards". He recalled the hard times when he first stepped into the filming industry. To strike a balance between his life and dreams, he did part-time jobs and helped others with scriptwriting free of charge. It was due to his willingness to work regardless of rewards that he managed to earn more and more opportunities to write scripts. His works then gradually became known and were appreciated in the field. Mr Yip knows much not only about movies, but also life. |
