Roadshow on use of MIIDSS

The first week of last December saw Detective Chief Inspector (DCIP) Andy Phillips and his team hit the road for a visit to all regional Senior Superintendent Crime conferences for a roadshow highlighting the availability and capability of the MIIDSS system for crime investigations. The system is available to all crime investigators and staff members are always on hand for case conference and discussion on exactly how the system can assist.

The system is now undergoing an up-grade as technology has advanced dramatically since the last system modification in 2001. This does not mean, however, it does not remain perfectly capable of assisting crime formations in their investigations and indeed this was the essence of the message conveyed by DCIP Phillips during his roadshows.

As an investigative tool for managing data collection arising from criminal enquiries, MIIDSS may be drilled for data mining and the subsequent revealing of patterns from the evidence entered into the system. The potential is there for linking various objects, persons or entities, to assist in narrowing down avenues of enquiry and to point an investigator in the right direction.

Officers or their teams requiring assistance from the system may contact members of DCIP Phillips' team through the formation website on POINT.
