Dear Sirs,

On behalf of my parents, I am writing to send a note of thank you to the police officers from Team 3B of the Kowloon East Regional Crime Unit, in particular Mr Lee and Mr So.

My mother, aged 64, was the victim of a telephone deception case, receiving a bogus phone call at home on February 28, 2012 asking for money so as to save her son from the culprit. My mother was initially asked to go to the nearby Bank of China in Lam Tin alone to withdraw money and was then asked to take a taxi to go to the Mongkok branch instead. My father dialled 999 for help and police officers soon arrived to help locate my mother.

Despite going through all the emotions and panic, my family suffered no loss to the fraudster at the end, thanks to the assistance of the police officers involved. My parents were impressed with their care, patience and professional performance.

I would be grateful if you could convey our sincere appreciation to the officers concerned, especially Mr Lee and Mr So, for a job professionally done.
