Police Tennis Team retains tourney title
Supported by Police Tennis Club Honorary Patron, Mr Richard Tang, the Police Tennis Team overpowered its archrival, Fire Services Tennis Team, to defend its championship in the Disciplined Services Tennis Tournament held at the Disciplined Services Sports and Recreation Club on February 25, winning the title of the tournament for the third time in a row.
Fire Services Department was the host of the tournament this year. In the preliminary rounds held in two months, the Police Tennis Team and the Fire Services Tennis Team knocked out their rivals from Correctional Services Department, Customs and Excise Department, Immigration Department and Independent Commission Against Corruption to enter into the final.
Mr Tang, the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, the Under Secretary for Security, Mr Richard Lai Tung-kwok, and heads of other disciplined services attended the final play-off as guests of honour to see the Police Tennis Team retain the title.
Mr Tang presented the trophy to the police team amid loud applause.
