To curb pickpocketing and theft in the shopping malls on Hong Kong Island, the Hong Kong Island Regional Crime Prevention Office and Central District jointly held a seminar at Leighton Hill Community Hall on May 14 for over 100 property management and security staff members from the malls. At the seminar, officers of the Regional Crime Prevention Office and the Task Force of Central District gave a briefing on the figures of pickpocketing and theft, as well as the common modus operandi. They also introduced the Behavioural Observation Technique so that the audience would apply the technique in their daily job of preventing such crimes. The seminar also served as a platform for the audience to exchange experience and to assist the police in curbing quick cash crimes. |
