Information and personal data obtained in the course of police work is an important asset and vital to discharge of duties of maintaining law and order. Mishandling of these data or information may result in information leakage, which will in turn adversely affect the individuals the data are related to and the reputation of the Force. The Force takes every practicable step to ensure that systems and processes maintain the highest standard of information security and that staff at all levels understand their roles in protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Force information and personal data privacy. To raise officers' awareness of this subject, Police College and Information Systems Wing have jointly produced an e-learning package on Information Security. This interactive e-learning platform is divided into two parts, with the first part aiming at enhancing Force members' overall knowledge of information security, while the second part introducing an overview of roles and providing handy information for supervisory officers, Force Information Technology Security Officers (FITSO), and Assistant FITSO. The English version of the e-learning package was launched on POINT on April 24, while the Chinese version will be available soon. Officers can access the English version via the e-Learning Portal: POINT > Knowledge management > Learning Portal > e-Learning Portal > e-Learning Packages > Development > Information Security (English Version) |
