PHM Carnival promotes healthy lifestyle and caring |

The Physical Fitness and Health Management (PHM) Carnival 2012 organised by Personnel Services and Staff Relations Branch in conjunction with Police sport and art clubs was successfully held on May 27 at Police Sports and Recreation Club. The carnival aimed at promoting the culture of regular exercise and healthy lifestyle among Force members and raising their awareness of the concept of physical fitness and health management. About 4 500 regular and auxiliary officers, civilians and their families participated in the event and enjoyed a day of fun and performances by police sport and art clubs. The provision of free Chinese medicine consultation including healthcare consultation, acupuncture and osteopathy massage by Pok Oi Hospital, was very popular with the participants. The carnival provided diverse activities not only on physical health but also on financial prudence, with Carelinker, Positive Mental Health and Prudent Financial Management booths catching a lot of attention. The carnival also saw staging of the Force Colours Award Presentation Ceremony, where 27 officers were presented with the Force Colours Award for Sport and nine other officers with the Award for Art for their achievements. In addition, Police Constable Au Pak-shing was awarded the Watson Cup as the outstanding athlete of the year (shooting) and New Territories North was awarded the Purdon Shield for overall outstanding achievement in sports. IP Chan Sze-ki
With the support of the Force and members of the public, the donation exercise for Inspector Chan Sze-ki recorded a total of over $3 million on May 31. Force members and their families attending the carnival actively supported the fund-raising sales organised by various clubs. The Force wishes IP Chan a speedy recovery and an early return to the job he is always proud of.
