The Police Band will participate in an International Military Tattoo to be staged at the Hong Kong Coliseum from June 22 to 24 in celebration of the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR). The 75-member Police Band will give a marching performance with pipe tunes including Trombone King, Drunken Piper, Clumsy Lover, Local Hero and 79th Farewell to Gibraltar. Presented by Home Affairs Bureau, the International Military Tattoo is Hong Kong's first military tattoo spectacular featuring over ten famous military bands from all over the world, including those from the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy, the Chinese People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison, the Royal Australian Navy, and the Russian Frontier Guard. They will bring to Hong Kong a rich programme of marching and military music, popular and classical music, folk music, and dance. To share the joy of celebrating establishment of the HKSAR with the general public, the Police Band will also take part in an outdoor concert to be held at Piazza Area C, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, starting at 4 pm on June 24. |
