Marine Police mentees tour Port District |
||
Following the Orientation Day held in March, the Marine Police Mentorship Programme continued to provide useful information to the mentees in order to enrich their knowledge of the Marine Police. On April 15, 21 mentees, accompanied by Deputy Head Mentor Chief Inspector Law Ka-hong, and their mentors, paid a visit to Marine Port District. The party first arrived at the Aberdeen Marine Police Base where the mentors introduced the daily sea-going duties to the mentees. Following this, the mentees looked at various types of police craft, showing a great interest in the work of the Marine Police, especially that of the Small Boat Division. The mentees then boarded Police Launch 63 for a short trip to Cheung Chau, and, whilst en route, watched a demonstration of the capability of the High Speed Interceptors. After arriving in Cheung Chau, they visited the Police Station to observe the policing duties on land. Before concluding their visit, the mentees had lunch at the officers' mess, where Cheung Chau Division officers shared their experiences with the mentees, giving the latter a better idea of the Marine Police's daily chores and working environment.
