Appreciation Corner (2)

Dear Commissioner of Police,

At about 3.45 pm on 13-06-2012, I saw an incident outside the Kwai Hing MTR Station. A disabled old man on a wheelchair holding an umbrella stayed at the road side waiting to cross the road. Even when the traffic light had turned green, he felt helpless as he could hardly manage his umbrella and wheelchair at the same time and could only wait for assistance. At this material time, a police vehicle (AM 6571) arrived at the scene and 2 male police officers took the initiative to get off the vehicle, despite heavy rainstorm, to assist the old man to safely cross the road.

As I was in a hurry, I am not sure about the name and police number of these 2 officers. Although the above incident might be regarded as a trivial matter, our society in fact needs such officers who are job devoted with strong sense of responsibility to maintain order, justice and stability of HK. Their good performance had established a good model for other police officers. Please convey my deep appreciation to them and take this opportunity to boost the morale of the whole police force.

E. Yip

(Editor's note: The officers praised in this letter are PCs Ho Yau-fai and Ng Chi-wai from PSU 2 KWCDIV)
