Mr Gary Fennelly, Manager Operations Far East and Asia of the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) in the UK, recently completed a two-week exchange programme between the Force and SOCA.

Commenting on the programme, Assistant Commissioner (Crime) Lo Mung-hung said: "Hong Kong Police and SOCA share similar values and aspirations in elevating our professional standards.  Through sharing of knowledge and experience between our two organisations, mutual understanding and trust will continue to grow and co-operation will be further strengthened in tackling the global policing challenges facing us."

Mr Fennelly said he started his programme with the Force on May 28, and subsequently undertook attachments with Liaison Bureau, Narcotics Bureau, Criminal Intelligence Bureau, Organised Crime and Triad Bureau, Commercial Crime Bureau, Crime Support Group, Crime New Territories South and Crime Tsuen Wan District.

In conclusion, he noted: "I was given first hand information on management and operational activities and saw how the police in Hong Kong operate on a daily basis through participation at meetings, discussions, presentations and visits.  I would like to say a heartfelt 'thank you' to my friends and colleagues in the Force for what has truly been an amazing experience."
