The Police Recruitment Day 2012 will be held at Police Headquarters on July 29, providing one-stop selection service to applicants.

"The Recruitment Day is an annual and large-scale recruitment exercise organised by Recruitment Division (RECDIV). As there will be two cohorts of secondary students graduating this year, i.e. the last Hong Kong Advanced Level Examination and the first Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, we expect there would be more fresh graduates entering the job market. This would offer us a good opportunity to attract more candidates of high calibre to join the Force and serve the community," said RECDIV Superintendent Lee Chung-wah

The Recruitment Day will provide one-stop service to applicants for the posts of Probationary Inspector (PI), including initial screening and scheduling of written examination, and for Recruit Police Constable (RPC), including initial screening and group interview.

The one-stop service will shorten the selection process by about three weeks and the successful RPC applicants on the Recruitment Day may start their foundation training in Police College as early as October this year.

Four sessions of career talks, conducted by Inspectorate Officers, Constables and Police Mentorship Programme mentees, will also be arranged for applicants to share their job experience, acquire general interview skills and get better prepared for the subsequent selection process.

Force members are urged to encourage their relatives and friends to join the Force. Interested applicants must complete the application forms via the website of Hong Kong Police Force (http://www.police.gov.hk/recruitment) between July 1 and 24. RECDIV will inform applicants of the selection arrangement by email.

In parallel with the Recruitment Day, the Recruitment Office on 13/F, Arsenal House, Police Headquarters will open for "Recruitment Express" between July 3 and  13. Applicants are required to bring copies of identity and academic certificate when they attend the Recruitment Office.

The Force aims to recruit 1 070 officers comprising 180 PIs and 890 RPCs this financial year.
