Mong Kok District (MKDIST) has joined forces with Yau Tsim District (YTDIST) to form the "Yau Tsim Mong Fight Crime Veterans" project with the support of the Yau Tsim Mong District Fight Crime Committee (YTMDFCC).

Aiming at promoting fight crime themes, raising public awareness of crime and enlisting community support for policing, the project is managed by MKDIST and YTDIST and supported and funded by the YTMDFCC.

At a ceremony held at PSRC on July 13, 164 Fight Crime Veterans (FCVs) were appointed to form a community network in partnership with the Police to fight crime. After their appointment, the FCVs started operating in nine teams, including one comprising Non-ethnic Chinese senior citizens.

Since their appointment, the FCVs have participated in many fight crime activities, sharing experience with police, attending crime prevention workshops, visiting police units, and distributing anti-crime leaflet to the public. The veterans have also visited local community groups and building management personnel to offer advice on anti-burglary measures and protection of personal property against quick cash crimes.
