A Joint Passing-out Parade for 144 Auxiliary Recruit Police Constables of Special Basic Training Course 2012 and 141 Auxiliary officers of Annual Continuation Training was held at Auxiliary Police Force Headquarters on August 25.

Addressing the parade as Reviewing Officer, Director of Operations Hung Hak-wai pointed out that during his 30 years of service he had worked closely with auxiliary police officers, dealing with many challenging tasks. He praised them for scarifying their own time to serve the community and appreciated the outstanding performance of the officers on parade. He encouraged them to keep up their efforts to enhance professionalism and serve the community.

Mr Hung also took the opportunity to thank the officers' families and colleagues for their support and encouragement for the Auxiliary Police Force.

The Annual Training Camp Commander, Chief Inspector (Aux) Wong Chun-pun, was grateful to have Mr Hung as Reviewing Officer.  He said auxiliary police officers were required to provide an immediate respond to any incident, like their regular counterparts.  Apart from maintaining law and order, officers also provided assistance to the public and resolved disputes whenever required.

The annual continuation training equipped serving auxiliary officers with the necessary skills and police knowledge for carrying out their duties effectively.

The Auxiliary Recruit Police Constables of Special Basic Training Course 2012 are undergraduates recruited under the Auxiliary Police Undergraduate Scheme. Some 800 university students have completed training and joined the Auxiliary Police Force since the scheme commenced in 2003.
