Twenty-one Fight Crime Ambassadors, who are winners of the Hang Seng Bank - Help the Police Fight Youth Crime Competition 2012, were received by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mrs Carrie Lam, and Commissioner Tsang Wai-hung, after their return from an eight-day trip to Vancouver and Regina in Canada, where they had spread fight crime messages and promoted Hong Kong as a world city. Hosted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Vancouver Police Department (VPD) from August 20 to 27, the ambassadors visited various formations such as RCMP Surrey Detachment, VPD Mounted Squad and Vancouver Police Museum, and shared experience of their mission in Canada with local students who were graduates of the RCMP Youth Academy and the VPD Student Challenge Programme, both being youth projects run by the Canadian Police. The Fight Crime Ambassadors also stayed in the RCMP Training Academy for two nights in Regina. Besides touring training facilities, they watched the Sergeant Major¡¦s Parade and met RCMP cadets of different cultural backgrounds. On September 10, the ambassadors briefed Mrs Lam and Mr Tsang on their fruitful visit to Canada in Mrs Lam¡¦s residence at Victoria House. At the meeting, Mrs Lam expressed hope that the ambassadors would continue to promote fight crime messages at home, among their peers, and in schools and the community so as to make Hong Kong one of the safest and most stable cities in the world.
