NTS crime busters praised
Legislative Councillors, Mr Chan Kin-por and Mr Chung Shu-kun, and the management of Target Insurance Company Limited called at New Territories South Region (NTS) on January 30 and presented a banner to officers of the Regional Crime Unit 3B for cracking a major insurance fraud case.
As another gesture of its appreciation, the insurance company also made a donation of $100,000 to the Police Welfare Fund. NTS Regional Commander Yu Mun-sang accepted a cheque for the donation on behalf of the Force.
The mastermind of the fraud case conspired with other parties to cheat insurance companies out of compensations by fabricating accidents. Regional Crime Unit officers eventually arrested 11 persons, resulting in the neutralisation of an insurance fraud syndicate.
